I read V for Vendetta last night – it struck me as a very young, idealistic work – dense with thought. AM did begin to write it when he was 22, as he notes in the Appendix of the book. Apparently, much like in the Journal of Kurt Cobain, AM writes down all the great influences, all the pillars of his personal craft, and pushes them into a narrative. I, ney everyone, should do this thing. The result is a little sloppy, but, like a good collection of bookmarks, includes other treasures to be discovered and tracked back to the source of the referrence, thereby deepening the appreciation for the work.
I need to figure out how to transport a large number of books out of my house and down to Baltimore…any ideas?
UPDATE 11/21
I convinced a friend who lives in New Jersey who is driving down today to haul a few of my boxes with her. I’m going to drive up on Friday to bring them back the same day. And I only had to use my body to convince her.
